I successfully realized a growth opportunity in a small organization.
This was done by executing a digital transformation for their operations.
Growth Opportunity
An organization relied a few individuals for everyday operations, which stagnated its growth for several years. I identified an opportunity for organizational growth through the introduction of scalable processes and efficient technology to reduce the burden on individuals.
Requirements Gathering
I met with organizational leaders to uncover their immediate needs and future aspirations for their departments. From this, I developed a list of specific business requirements and a future vision for the organization.
This enabled me to find technology that would meet the organization’s current needs and lay the foundation for additional features that they could adopt as their organization grew.
It also saved them about 40% of their annual technology costs by replacing multiple subscriptions with a single tool.
User Adoption
As I rolled out new technology in the organization, I took multiple approaches to ensure it was adopted.
For key organization leaders, I provided in-person training and pitched how the tool could provide additional value in the future.
For the majority of the organization, I provided a live demo and sent multiple reminders with written instructions.
Finally, for those who needed additional assistance, I provided one-on-one setup of the new technology.
Growth & Stability
The organization saw an immediate increase in audience engagement with its media and events. Shortly after I rolled out all changes, they experienced a 15% increase in membership.
When they later experienced a leadership change, the organization continued to operate smoothly because the process and tools had stabilized their operations.
An Inside Look
I completed this project at The Church at 1548 Heights, where I worked part time on a consultancy basis.
The church operated largely on an “Ask Ann, Kim, or Matt” principle, which created obvious bottlenecks and made it difficult for new participants to get plugged in. They routinely had visitors who attended for a few weeks and then moved on.
The changes that I introduced were a cultural shift as well as a technology one. It required persistence and commitment to the vision to make both a success.
